food for traveling / hiking

Me and my friends were able to get a good deal for a group travel to Argentina this year and we're going to have a hiking activity. I'd like to get some food suggestions for hiking. I hope you can share as well some safe food packaging or containers to use...no leaks, no spills, etc. I'm so excited for this trip and I am checking for all the necessary things that I should bring. If you can suggest other stuff to pack for hiking, please feel free to drop a line. Thanks!

Wow! that's really exciting. I haven't been to Argentina and hiking could be a good idea. Anyway, in terms of camping or an outing, we always use a boil in bags or a heavy duty zip lock. These will ensure you a very safe food packaging. By the way, aside from other camping essentials , I advise that you bring your first aid kit for some emergency cases.

I did get these boil in bags. Used it for packing food and for cooking stuff like omelettes.
