I would like to tell our experience of this attraction in Phalaborwa, as it may be useful for someone.
I hired this cruise on the Olifants River by e-mail with the 210R price per person with snacks and drinks. I let the name of the lodge where we stayed (so they could call us if there was a problem). This day we went to cruise with the idea of enjoying the day and the problems started:
1 No indication to arrive. Thanks to man that guided us, we arrived. We lost almost an hour to find-them.
2. Upon arrival it turned out that only we are for the trip and we found there the bigger price as follows: the captain asked the barmen: how much they charge? The answer: 300R
3. We were there - we accept the new rate and the barmen offered us coffee and drinks and says that the adventure would last 3 hours.
4. The boat is quite old (12 years). Do not have lifeguards. If it breaks - no boat to take passengers. You can wait until 4 or 5 hours to rescue you (as an opinion on the web).
5. The adventure lasted about 2 hours (instead of 3) and after this the barmen told us we had to pay for drinks (the captain was quite shocked - but not said anything). !!Us charged to the captain's coffee!! (and our drinks) and having no change - barman renegotiated to 1R.
6. While the adventure itself is worth and the captain is very friendly - can not recommend this cruise. Exist another: Jumbo River safaris. Apparently it is his rival and is located in same place but across the Olifants River.
7. They have not called to us for notify of change in price or cancellation of the cruise (which would be understandable). Instead of 420R (40€) cost us 700R (68€) and a bitter enough holidays. Draw their own conclusions, this is just our experience.
