We're doing a round the world trip. We want to visit China at some stage in December, only for a couple of weeks. Our budget is limited. We can't decide between Hong Kong and ShangHai. I've asked a Chinese friend and he said: "Hong Kong is a wonderful place you should visit. ShangHai is a modern city but not good as Hong Kong. My suggestion is that you must go to Beijing(very China style) and Hong Kong (very international style). And if you have enough time, You can also visit Xi'an and Nan Jing these traditional china cities"
