You can apply for a visa either through the Chinese Embassy or Consulates. It usually takes 4-5 five working days to apply a visa successfully.

The easiest way to get a China visa is to use a agency. China is one of those countries which prefers that you use an agency to process your visa. I have used Touch Law Firm before so I chose them, and besides they have offices in Guangzhou, Yiwu and Hong kong. Thus they don't need to keep my passport. Just providing a scanned copy of my (valid) passport and a 2 inch photograph of mine, they can get a China visa for me. If you have been to china before, you must include a photocopy of your previous visas. Of course, they don't work for free but they charge low fees.

Yeah i do this when i,m going to china in 2009.Its very easy process but i get a study visa so its not having many issues for it.If you want any other visa i don,t know what difficulties are in it.But the embassy is very noble and kind it really help you in a good way.
