Medog amorous feelings in Nyingchi, Tibet
In Tibetan, Medog means flower. This county is located in Nyingchi area, the southeast of the Tibet Autonomous Region and at the lower branch of Yarlung Zangbo River.
In Medog county, there are some fascinating waterfalls like Big-bend waterfall, hanmi waterfall and Tiger-mouth waterfall etc. Some of them like fine gauzes, some of them like ribbons fluttering. The hanmi waterfall is also known as triple-lap spring because it has three layers with the total height 400 meter. The fist layer swarm into the valley from the snow peak, the second layer outflow slowly from the thicket and fall rapidly, the third layer rush to a large stone, then to the Duoxiong River, form many deep pools.
Another attraction in the county is the Medog National Animal and Plant Reserve Area. It has more than 3,000 species of plants, 42 species of rare wild animals that under special State protection, and over a thousand of hexapod species.
Most people live in the county are of Moinba ethnic minority and Lhoba ethnic group.
