knew I had placed myself in Beijing at the very sight of the isolated old house called courtyard dwellings, which erected amid the modern buildings. With the train slipped to the Beijing West Station, my first trip to Beijing was starting gradually. Everything was done, we were told the trip schedule for 4 days in Beijing. It is my first time to give a glimpse of sky elsewhere. Comparatively speaking, Beijing’s sky was cloudy and dusty. The impressive colorless atmosphere made people uneasy. However, traveling should become a pleasant matter for travelers. We took the bus to the first destination—Forbidden Palace. The palace, which was respectable and mysterious, stood on the central axis of Beijing dignifiedly. We passed through it quickly because of rebuilding projects. However, it was difficult for me to tell the feeling for coming close to authority of ancient Chinese administration. I thought that the word “amazing” was suitable. Then we focused our time on Chairman Mao Memorial Hall. We stood in line for more than 3 hours. It took us 5 seconds to give Chairman Mao’s body an admiring glance. While someone pointed out that it is not worthy, some beliefs and respects has imprint on my heart. Another impressive character of Beijing was that many people took bicycles on the road. Although I had heard that Beijing was distinctive with its bicycle culture, this was the first time I realized it. Since Beijing Olympic Games was approaching in 2005, the bicycle-riding flourish recurred for environment protection. Or perhaps it never declined. Nevertheless, their supportive attitude at this kind of healthy way was admirable. Thus, the next destination was a famous royal garden—Summer Palace. The stunning scenery and gigantic old structure attracted me a lot. There were no concrete skyscrapers and artificial canals. The picturesque prospect conveyed its inner historical and natural beauty. The hundreds of meters corridor was telling us the legendary story which happened in Qing Dynasty… The unforgettable first trip gave me an opportunity to feel Beijing’s culture which symbolized a mixture of tradition and fashion. I deeply appreciated it.

Beijing is an awesome place to visit. In summer, I went to Beijing and the scenery is very beautiful although the climate was very hot. I went to Forbidden city lying at the city center and called Gu Gong in Chinese. This is considered as the best protected and biggest imperial building complex world.
