Easy to learn, meditation requires no special accessories or equipment, involves no trainers or classes (although some introductory training or group meditations can be beneficial until you learn to relax your mind), and can be done just about anywhere. Once you learn how your own mind relaxes itself, you will be able to take a mental break by meditating any time, anywhere.

    The brain waves of meditators show why they're healthier. Neuroscientists have found that meditators shift their brain activity to different areas of the cortex—brain waves in the stress-prone right frontal cortex move to the calmer left frontal cortex. In other words, they were calmer and happier than before.

      I did my first meditation course in Jaipur

      I did my first meditation course in Jaipur, in a center belongs to Guenka (the founder). It was a 10 days course based on donations, including three meals a day and an afternoon tea break. I must admit it was not easy as we've been instructed to meditate 10 hours a day (with short breaks in between), without speaking at all, without looking at one another, without reading or smoking or listening to music but that wasn't yet the most difficult part-the most difficult part really was the non moving and the non thinking while meditating. The first few days are hard but then things start to get magical...don't know how to explain?! Anyway, I highly recommend it. Though it's not easy it is very effective and rewarding. The center itself is lovely and I would recommend you all to stay in a convenient hotel before and after the course so that you can feel relaxed. One hotel in Jaipur I really enjoyed staying in is Amer View Hotel-nicely designed, clean, comfortable and not at all expensive! I booked it through a web site called Easy Click Travel for 37$ a double room with internet, TV, refrigerator etc

          Meditation is very beneficial than other workouts. It makes us stress free, feel relaxed and keep healthy and fit.
