UP releases Rs 1 crore as initial payment for new zoo in Lucknow

The Uttar Pradesh (UP) government will open one more zoo after the existing ones in Lucknow and Kanpur. The third zoo will come up in at Kukrail area in Lucknow. Some 80 to100 species of animals will be housed in the zoo and have around 1,000 wild animals and birds. The budget for this zoo is Rs 252 crore. In the first phase, Rs 60 crore will be released for the proposed project for which the government is fully committed.
