    It is really one of the most common but strange question that Why Jaipur is called Pink City of India. Once of the main reason is that most of forts and Mahals are painted with Pink colour another fact is. In 1853, when Prince of wales visited Jaipur, the wntire city was painted in pink to welcome him during the regime of Sawai Ram Singh.

      Jaipur is called the Pink City because at the time, architecture of the town was very advanced and certainly the best in Indian Subcontinent. In 1853, when the Prince of Wales visited Jaipur, the whole city was painted pink to welcome him during the regime of Sawai Ram Singh. Today, avenues remain painted in pink, provide a distinctive appearance to the city.

        Jaipur has nicknames by color. Jaipur is the Pink city because all the buildings have a pinkish tint to them. It is famous for its unique and outstanding architecture worldwide. It was one of the best planned cities in the world and the first planned city in northern India.
