Sim's Park is a botanical garden that was developed in 1874 by Mr. J.D. Sims and Major Murray. Naturally occurring trees, shrubs and creepers are in the park and many other unusual species of plants that have been brought in from a variety of places around the world. Rudraksh or beads tree is a very rare tree and is found in this park. Other trees found here are Cinnamomum, Magnolia, Turpentine, Pine, Araucaria, Phoenix, Quercus, Tree Ferns, Camellia. Sim’s Park has the maximum number of temperate plants in India and because of this, it is a haven for botanists. In total, there are about 1000 species of plants found here.
