I think Darjeeling will be the best hill station to visit. It is situated in West Bengal. This hill station is internationally famous for its "muscatel tea". Along with the scintillating beauty of its landscape, it is also famous for "Darjeeling Himalayan Railway". Declared as a World Heritage Site in 1999, it is one of the few steam engines in India, which are still in service and connects Darjeeling with the plains below. Best hill station to visit in India

I prefer the hill stations of eastern India like :-
Darjeeling :- famous for its breathtaking views of snow-capped mountain peaks & lush Tea Gardens
Gangtok & Pelling :- pristine beauty and wonderful monasteries

The nearest airport to visit these places is Bagdogra and regular flights are available from Delhi, Mumbai & Kolkata

The nearest railway station is NewJalpaiguri and trains are available from most of the main cities
