I am a US citizen, have a US driving car licence (New York) and International driving licence wish to travel to Europe and buy a car there. I am a safe driver and for my current year have a no claim bonus of 35%.
Can anybody advise me after I have bought a used car in Holland how do I get minimum insurance for the car there (insurance only if in any accident I hit another car etc and they need repairs. I get nothing for my car or any bodily injury to me). I have an address in Holland. I have been informed this could be a problem but am aware that US citizens traveling in Europe have done that and vice versa.
