Train from Frankfurt to Prague

Any recommendations on train from Frankfurt to Prague. We're getting a pass for both Czech Republic and Germany. The departure of the direct train will not work for our time schedule.

We were looking at train from Frankfurt to Nuremberg and then bus from Nuremberg to Prague, but looks like a very tight connection. We thought about train from Frankfurt to Dresden and catch another train from Dresden to Prague. That has more connection options but makes for a longer day.

Any suggestions? Has anyone made the tight connection or been on the bus between Nuremberg to Prague?
