We are beginning a road trip next week from Sweden to Germany to Paris. We will be staying in hotels in Stockholm, Berlin and Prague for a few nights at a time, and then heading to Munich area and Bavarian Alps. A 3-4 night stay would be a welcome break in one place outside of a large city. Any suggestions as to where to stay in order to make a day trip into Munich (via train...Bayern pass) and then use the car to visit other sights, such as the Ludwig castles, Mittenwald, Fussen, etc. It would be a nice break to be in the mountains where we could just relax, hike, or visit a few towns
