  • Lido di Jesolo

About 30km north of Venice. This is an old resort which has evolved with times being a modern sea side tourism attraction.

There are plenty of hotels right on the beach in the back of which there is a long shopping street with restaurants, villas and smaller hotels or pensions. Most of the hotels have a piece of beach and they provide umbrelas and chairs.

The beach is clean and the sand is nice, not stony as in other parts and the water is not deep, you can walk into the sea a few meters and it will not reach your neck. The water is clear and you may spot fish or otehr marine life.

On the shopping street traffic is limited and during the evening and night there is no traffic at all, it becomes a walking area for tourists. People ride their bicicles and there a few tourist trains going around.
Restaurants on the street offer a variety of foods, many being sea foods and some specific to this area. You can acompany the food with local red wine which comes in a "demi-seco" variant mostly but you can be lucky and find a rare sweeter wine.

Venice can be visited by organised tours, from Lido di Jesolo there are regular busses going to venice. The bus takes you from Jesolo to the sea channel. From here you have to take a ship into venice. Once you have finsihed visiting vencie there is always a ship to take you back, just be carefull that busses may not travel late in the evening so plan ahead.

If you get bored in Jesolo with swimming and sun bathing there are a few things you can do.

If you like driving and carting here they have a nice carting track and prices are not high. Lots of kids and parents go here but I have also seen adults enjoying it.
The carting area has a small terase where you cna have a drink or eat while waiting for your turn or your kids.

There is also a natural science museum, showing marine life, dinosaurs, birds and old local tools for fishing, bird cages or hunting.

Somewhere close to center they also have a reptilarium, has lots of reptiles and in one area they can have live sharks and otehr fish in tanks.

(I'll update if I remember anything)

Well, yes, usually in summer time it's quite full as I suppose it's the most popular beach around Venice. However it is not so crowded as for example Amalfi coast.

I visited once in my life of this beach. I had great fun there with my father. My father to again visit there in next week. I have some information about it which I share with you like This is the beach area of the commune of Jesolo in the province of Venice, Italy. The place's economy is mostly based on tourism, because of its 15 km-long beaches.
