you are right..Popular best city for foreign travers in Japan, however, generally speaking would be either Tokyo or Kyoto.

It is because as everybody can easily assume, Tokyo represents modern Japan and Kyoto on the contrary classic one of course.I definitely recommend that you visit Kyoto and Nara to see traditional Japan. I, personally love Kyoto's Kiyomizu-dera. The walk just to get there is awesome since you pass through Kyoto's Gion district. It has amazing shops and it has an eloquent, traditional Japanese feel. If you have time/money left you should go see Miyajima. It's an hour subway ride away from Hiroshima (also a city worth visiting). Miyajima is really pretty and it has the Itsukushima Shrine (the huge torii gate sticking out of the water) which Japan has declared one of it's national treasures.

I visited Mount Fuji about a couple of years ago. It is absolutely a gorgeous tourist attraction located in Honshu Island. It is the highest and most prominent mountain in Japan. As well as it is known as one the world’s natural wonders. Climbing on this lovely mountain is amazing.
