  • How to make pancakes

I come to Kiti Restaurant in Hanoi, Vietnam last week, I and my family had breakfast there with pancakes, sandwiches and milk. I was surprised at taste of pancakes in the restaurant, it's difference to pancakes I ate. I was curious and ask a waiter. She was very enthusiatic to show me how to make pancakes. If having a chance you try it in Kiti restaurant in Vietnam.
I took note because I want to make it for my family or friends when I have spare time (although I don't almost have much spare time, we usually come to Kiti Restaurant on breakfast since coming to Vietnam for 6 months). I'm going to write how to make pancakes here to remember and to share with you. It's really delicous.
    Ingredients

A good basic recipe to start you on your way to making pancakes from scratch is this one:

    1 cup flour
    1 tablespoon sugar
    2 teaspoons baking powder
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 egg, beaten
    1 cup milk
    2 tablespoons vegetable oil

    Instructions

    - Mix the flour, sugar, salt and baking powder in a bowl. If you have a whisk, use it, and make sure the ingredients are well mixed. Otherwise you can use a fork.
    - In another bowl, beat the egg, then add the milk and oil. Mix until it is thoroughly combined.
    - Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and whisk them together for about a minute. The mixture should be a bit lumpy.
    - Heat a griddle or large cast iron skillet over medium heat until a drop of water dropped onto the skillet sizzles.
    - Now pour about a third of a cup of batter into the pan. This isn’t exact. If you want larger pancakes, pour more. For smaller pancakes, pour less batter.
    - Cook the first side approximately two minutes two minutes or until the bubbles that form on the top pop.
    - Flip it over and let the other side cook for about a minute or until golden brown.

Nice information about Pancake, this is an East African specialty which can be eaten by itself or with any type of curry. Others prefer to spread some syrup on top, roll it and eat as a snack. Moreover, it can also be accompanied with Tea or Coffee.

      Thanks for sharing

I'm also in Vietnam, travelling with my girl friend. If the pankcake of Kiti Restaurant is really good, I'll come there to enjoy. We often go across the restaurant when we go for a walk Hoan Kiem Lake and The Old Quarter Street. And we have had a dinner in the restaurant, but the Chicken schnitzel in Orange sauce is very expensive so my girl friend don't come back there. But I'll come back the restaurant because we see that there're not any restaurant having the chicken schnitzel in Orange sauce better.
