Not all places in Singapore are as convenient as what some foreigners believe it to be from listening to others or from reading in articles. Cars are extremely expensive and housing prices are shooting up every year, leaving many middle class people feeling hard. It's a stressful and harder place to live as compared to the 80s and 90s. Medical services are expensive. There is a joke in Singapore - You can die but you can't get sick. It means that you can afford to die asap without spending much but you can't afford to be sick because you'll end up getting hospitalized and pay for treatments, which will cost you bombs, even your medisave from social security is not enough to cover. It can be unbearable if you live too term in Singapore if you don't get a comfortable income AT LEAST. If you're a single, young man/woman, you'll still survive well. But if you have family with children, it can be tough.
