With the inclusion of Taiwan as the 37th member country of the US Visa Waiver Program (VWP), new bilateral relations between the two countries will be cemented. This is according to Bruce Linghu, Director-general of the Ministry’s Department of North American Affairs. He further explains that the Taiwan-US relationships have come to their peak over the last 3 decades with the visa-free entry granted by US to Taiwan.
The VWP membership of Taiwan is a great privilege for the country as Taiwanese nationals no longer have to go through the rigid and tiring process of applying for a visa to the USA where they are to pay a significant amount for their visa processing.
