Tourism in Bangladesh is a slowly developing foreign currency earner. The country has much to attract international and domestic tourists.
Bangladesh's tourist attractions include archaeological sites, historical mosques and monuments, resorts, beaches, picnic spots, forests and tribal people, wildlife of various species. Bangladesh offers ample opportunities to tourists for angling, water skiing, river cruising, hiking, rowing, yachting, sea bathing as well as bringing one in close touch with pristine nature.
In the northern part, comprising the Rajshahi division, there are archaeological sites, including the temple city Puthia in Rajshahi; the largest and most ancient archaeological site, Mahasthangarh in Bogra; the single largest Buddhist monastery, Paharpur in Naogaon; the most ornamental terracota Hindu temple in Bangladesh Kantaji Temple, and many rajbaris or palaces of old zamindars.
In the south-western part, mainly the Khulna Division, there is the Sundarbans, the largest mangrove forest of the world with Royal Bengal Tiger and spotted deer. The historically and architecturally important sixty domed mosque in Bagerhat is a notable site.
In the south-eastern part, which is the Chittagong division, there are natural and hilly areas like Chittagong Hill Tracts, along with sandy sea beaches. The most notable beach, in Cox's Bazaar, is a contender for the title of longest unbroken sandy sea beach in the world.
In the north-eastern part, Sylhet division, there is a green carpet of tea plants on small hillocks. Natural reserved forests are great attractions. Migratory birds in winter, particularly in the haor areas, are also very attractive in this area.
In 2004, the US Department of State estimated the daily cost of staying in Dhaka at $191. Expenses in other areas can be much lower.

    Sundarban
The Sundarbans is the largest single block of tidal halophytic mangrove forest in the world. The Sunderbans is a UNESCO World Heritage Site covering parts of Bangladesh and Indian state of West Bengal.
Two-third of the Sundarbans is in Bangladesh while rest one-third is in West Bengal, India. The Sundarbans National Park is a National Park, Tiger Reserve, and a Biosphere Reserve located in the Sundarbans delta in the Indian state of West Bengal. Sundarbans South East and West are three protected forests in Bangladesh. This region is densely covered by mangrove forests, and is one of the largest reserves for the Bengal tiger.

The Sundarbans provides a unique ecosystem and a rich wildlife habitat. According to the 2011 tiger census, the Sundarbans have about 270 tigers. Although previous rough estimates had suggested much higher figures close to 300, the 2011 census provided the first ever scientific estimate of tigers from the area Tiger attacks are frequent in the Sundarbans. Between 100 and 250 people are killed per year.
There is much more wildlife here than just the endangered Royal Bengal Tiger (Panthera tigris tigris). Most importantly, mangroves are a transition from the marine to freshwater and terrestrial systems, and provide critical habitat for numerous species of small fish, crabs, shrimps and other crustaceans that adapt to feed and shelter, and reproduce among the tangled mass of roots, known as pneumatophores, which grow upward from the anaerobic mud to get the supply of oxygen. Fishing Cats, Macaques, wild boars, Common Grey Mongooses, Foxes, Jungle Cats, Flying Foxes,Pangolins, and spotted deer are also found in abundance in the Sundarbans.

Bangladesh has the most natural landmarks which make a dream travel destination for tourists. It is one of the most closely populated countries of the world. The top places like Patenga beach, Cox’s bazaar, Hill tracts districts, Rangamati, Kaptai and Folk Art Museum. I’d also recommend visiting there.

Showings and challenges can rapidly turn vicious in Bangladesh and can incorporate the smoldering of transports and ambushes on property, detours and showdown with the police. There are normal authorized strikes, known by regional standards as hartals.

Bangladesh is one of the most beautiful country in the world.Hey Guys, I have done some research and cannot seem to get a definite answer. Attaining the visa from Australia usually takes roughly 3 months but as I will be travelling for 6 months before reaching Burma this will be pointless. I will be in Bangladesh for a month roughly at the end of this year. Flying in from Kolkata to get the 28 Day visa then traveling around beautiful Bangladesh then flying out to Yangon (is this possible?) I am hoping to get the Burmese visa whilst in Dhaka. How long does the process usually take? How much is it? whats the best way to get it? (embassy or agent). Thanks a lot for your help in advance. Cant wait!
