1. Man Tru Commune Festival
Time: The 2nd day of the seventh lunar month. (Equipvalent to 1st August 2011- solar calendar)
Place: Khoai Chau District, Hung Yen Province.
Objects of worship: Seven Royal Highest mandarins (Hai, Linh, Long, Loi, Luong, Nhao, Son) in the reign of Hung Vuong, who had merit of quelling a revolt in Hung Hoa.
Characteristics: The offerings include buffalo, goat, pig; and entertainment.
2. Cai Cong Temple Festival
Time: 7th day of the seventh lunar month (Equipvalent to 6th August 2011- solar calendar) and the 10th day to the 12th day of the second lunar month.
Place: Thuong Thanh Village, Thanh Cao Commune, Thanh Oai District, Hanoi.
Objects of worship:Mr. Cai Cong, a general of Hai Ba Trung, who impersonated a woman to take part in the insurgent army.
Characteristics: Procession, vegetarian feast, Chinese chess, wrestling, cock fighting.
3. Dao Xa Festival
Time: 9th day of the seventh lunar month. (Equipvalent to 8th August 2011- solar calendar)
Placeao Xa Commune, Thanh Thuy District, Phu Tho Province.
Objects of worship:Hung Hai Cong and three Royal Highest mandarins who had merit of helping people control floods, Princess Que Hoa.
Characteristics:Praying for water ceremony, after worshipping take trai down and race boat at night.
4. Ba Thon Temple Festival
Time: 12th day of the seventh lunar month. (Equipvalent to 11th August 2011- solar calendar)
Place: Thuy Hai Commune, Thai Thuy District, Thai Binh Province.
Objects of worship: Nguyen Cang.
Characteristics: Water procession at sea.
5. Do Gian Festival
Time: The 15th day of the seventh lunar month. (Equipvalent to 14th August 2011- solar calendar)
Place: An Thai Village, An Nhon District, Binh Dinh Province.
Objects of worship: Ba (a goddess of the sea).
Characteristics: Praying for good weather, happiness and wealth for villagers; sacrifice-offering ceremony, singing, souls-of-the-dead worshiping and do gian (an old custom of the local people in which the offering is roast pork. When the sacrifice-offering ceremony finishes, roast pork is thrown down from trellis).
6. Long Chu Festival
Time: The 15th day of the seventh lunar month. (Equipvalent to 14th August 2011- solar calendar)
Place: Villages of coastal areas in Hoi An City, Quang Nam Province.
Characteristics: Worshipping to exterminate harmful insects and plagues at the changes season. Procession of “Long Chu” (Dragon boat) is carried from communal house to river wharf, then push boats and rafts to river and sea. Traditional games: boi, ho khoan singing, xo co (pushing palanquin).
7. An Truyen Festival
Time: 16th day of the seventh lunar month. (Equipvalent to 15th August 2011- solar calendar)
Place: Phu Vang District, Thua Thien-Hue Province.
Objects of worship: God of opening rice paddies Ho Quang Lanh and families Nguyen, Huynh, Doan.
Characteristics: Procession of god, chess playing, cock fighting.
8. Chang Son Festival
Time: From the 18th to the 19th day of the seventh lunar month. (Equipvalent to from 17th - 18th August 2011- solar calendar)
Place: Chang Son Commune, Thach That District, Ha Noi.
Objects of worship: Water genie, and three gods who had merit of fighting Thuc troops: Tan Vien, Cao Son, Qui Minh.
Characteristics: Procession of water genie's votive tablet, wrestling, cock fighting, swinging, Chinese chess, to tom, water puppetry, a dao singing, cheo performance.
9. Trai racing Festival in Vong La Village
Time: The 20th day of the seventh lunar month and the 10th day of the tenth lunar month. (Equipvalent to 19th August 2011- solar calendar)
Place: Vong La Hamlet, Vong La Commune, Dong Anh District, Hanoi.
Objects of worship: Three Royal Highest mandarins: Cung Mac, Linh Khon and Minh Chieu, who had merit of assistant the 18th Hung King fighting aggressors.
Characteristics: Trai racing contest.
10. Cao Dai Village Festival
Time: The 22nd day of the seventh lunar month. (Equipvalent to 21st August 2011- solar calendar)
Place: Cao Dai Village, My Thanh Commune, My Loc District, Nam Dinh Province.
Objects of worship: The Great tutor Tran Quang Khai and Princess Phung Duong (his wife).
Characteristics: Procession of god, sacrifice-offering ceremony, performance of the old tales of arresting invaders by fishermen, the female lord of Muong cooking rice for the soldiers, and games such as wrestling, contests of duck catching, trai racing, cloth weaving.
For very long time, festivals has come into the life of Vietnamese as special culture, therefore, it also attracts many tourists in Vietnam Travel each year.
