Barbados is great! There is a lot of stuff to do - cultural, sporting events, shopping. There are beautiful beaches, it is safe, and the people are wonderful.
Go to Oistins on the south coast for fish - thursday, friday, or saturday. If there are garden or house tours, I recommend those.
Also visit a rum shop to get a sense of how Bajans live/play. Marshall's on Holden Hill near the west coast is a neighborhood restaurant that has terrific food on the cheap.

Country information
Barbados situated just east of the Caribbean Sea, is an independent island nation in the western Atlantic Ocean. At roughly 13° North and 59° West, the country lies in the southern Caribbean region, where it is a part of the Lesser Antilles island-chain. Its closest island neighbours are St.
Transport on the island is good, with 'route taxis', called "ZR's" (pronounced "Zed-Rs" not "Zee-Rs"), travelling to most points on the island. These small buses can at times be crowded, but will usually take the more scenic routes to destinations. They generally depart from the capital Bridgetown or from Speightstown in the northern part of the island.
The island also has plenty of taxis for hire, though they can be expensive. Visitors also have the option of transport by car, presuming that they have a driver's licence (issued in their native country).
The island of Barbados has a single major airport, the Sir Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA) (IATA identifier BGI). It receives daily flights by several major airlines from points around the globe, as well as several smaller regional commercial airlines and charters.
Hi,
What's not to love about beautiful Barbados. The west coast side of the island offers a selection of calm clear beaches and accommodations that range from inexpensive guest houses to opulent hotels that provide luxury and comfort. This island is not known for its all inclusive hotel packages, as Barbados wants you to experience the sumptuous delights of the islands fine dining restaurants at your leisure. Take the time while honeymooning to enjoy the exciting nightlife in the St. Lawrence Gap area, tour Harrisons Cave or play golf at one of the islands magnificent golf courses.
Thanks!
