Where to stay in Ft. Lauderdale (on Intracoastal Waterway) after cruise?

We're looking for a nice place to stay (preferable on the intracoastal waterway) for 2 nights after our 10 day Caribbean cruise.
I need suggestions please. It would be great to have a nice place where we can walk outside and walk to the marinas and see the yachts. Any suggestions??? Thanks in advance.
