Hmm, what about the sub-zero temperatures? When I was a kid, I read tales of travelers in Alaska freezing to death because the temperatures in winter were so amazingly low. So what's the truth about Alaska? Just how cold does it get, and just how dangerous can those white, wild places get if one loses ones way or has an accident that prevents one from moving quickly? That said, I did see the northern lights before in Finland, and they certainly are worth seeing. A fascinating and very magical sight.
