An agreement boosting cooperation in preventing serious crime was signed between Bulgaria and the United States. This is said to be crucial and big step forward with regards to Bulgaria joining the US visa-free travel through online ESTA.
The Secretary of the US Department of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, and Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov met in Bulgaria on the 10th of October. A key agreement was signed for cooperation between the two countries in the fight against serious crime.
The ceremony held in the Council of Ministry building in downtown Sofia was also attended by the Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov.
It was stressed by Secretary Napolitano that the new pact was another step towards lifting the visa regime for Bulgarians, taking them closer to a visa-free travel via United States ESTA.
