If you want real experience then i think you should work with travel company. By this you can do much better in this field. There are lot of thing which a travel guide should have to know before giving services to their client.

You should consider the partner (travel companies) is similar with your friends. Then, you talk to them your purpose. However, you should use formal form. That is ok. I hope you can be successful!
