- Motorcycles are prohibited on most Bangkok highways, tollways, and bridges (look out for the dreaded red sign showing no motorcycles, bicycles, tuk-tuks, etc.). The host emphasizes sticking to legal routes only—no “you can sneak by” shortcuts.
- Phase 1 – Entering Bangkok:
- Start on Sukhumvit Road (Route 3), which runs along the east coast into Bangkok.
- Follow the BTS Skytrain pillars (on the right) and count 8 stations.
- After the 8th station (Pu Chao), turn left toward Phra Pradaeng.
- Phase 2 – The Ferry Crossing:
- Follow Route 3113, a straight industrial road, to the river.
- Board the motorcycle ferry at Phra Pradaeng (10 baht, ~5 min ride).
- On the west side, exit and turn right, then left onto a small road that connects to a bigger one.
- Phase 3 – Connecting Roads:
- Join Route 303 for ~4.5 km (avoid staying too far left).
- Exit onto Route 35, the main east–west road out of Bangkok.
- Stay on the service/frontage road until motorcycles are allowed onto the main highway.
- Final Stretch:
- Route 35 leads to Highway 4, which runs directly south to Cha-am and Hua Hin.
